List of reptiles of West Virginia
Around 40 species of reptiles can be found in the state of West Virginia. With 13 turtle species, 6 lizard species, and 20 species of snakes, West Virginia's reptile diversity is high. However, many of these species are declining in population due to habitat destruction, water pollution, and the killing of reptiles out of ignorant fear.[1]
